Headteacher update 10th June

Dear Parents,

It has been just over a week and a half since our re-opening to a small selection of pupils and we are all beginning to try readjust to a new way of school. As you can see from the pictures above, we have a range of measures in place to ensure social distancing and the pupils have been amazing at adapting to these changes.

Instead of classes we now operate within ‘bubbles’ of staff and pupils, working out of a few classrooms and using staggered times to collect food from the dining hall and to use the outside spaces.

As of this week, the government has announced that it has scrapped plans to have all children back in school before the end of the term. At the moment, we have been told that it is up to schools to decide how to bring the remaining pupils back and, as you can imagine, there are many practical implications to attempting this. We hope to receive further guidance from the government in the next week to help us make our decisions.

In the meantime please continue to access work through the website and use the teacher email (teacher@hertfordstandrew.herts.sch.uk) to contact staff if you have any questions. We are currently looking at online learning platforms for pupils and other ways to improve communication.

You and your families are always in our thoughts and prayers and we look forward to the day when we can welcome you all back into school.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr R Jones
