Love Learning. Aim High. Trust God.
Welcome back to Ash class. I hope that you have all enjoyed the Easter break and are ready to embark upon our final term of the school year. Summer term will see us considering how we can make a difference to the planet when we participate in Earth Day, celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, honing our athletic skills in readiness for sports' day and preparing ourselves for transition to years 3 and 4.
Please check our class page regularly for photographs of what we have been up to.
Welcome back to Hertford St Andrew, Ash Class and to the start of the spring term. We have a busy term planned ahead so please take time to have a look at our spring term curriculum map and class bulletin (below).
Ash Class update.
Last week, it was our turn to move to the hall whilst the pipework is being completed in our classroom. Everyone has settled in to our new learning environment well and we have been as busy as ever.
Take a look at some of the things we have been up to.
Ancient Egyptian Day
Today, we celebrated the end of our topic by having an Ancient Egyptian Day. We began the day by creating Egyptian collars then moved on to making scarab beetle amulets. We cracked hieroglyphic codes and tasted a delicious range of foods that the Ancient Egyptians would have eaten. Our day ended with a visit from Hertford Museum where we worked in groups to mummify a body!

International Week
This week has been International Week at Hertford St Andrew.
In Ash Class, we have been learning all about China.

This week, we have started our Art and DT lessons by creating superhero models. Firstly we shaped the 'skeleton' of our superheroes from modelling wire, before given them form by moulding plasticine around this frame.
