Girls Cricket Success

On Friday 16th June, some girls from Year 5 and 6 competed in a girl's Kwik Cricket competition at Sele School. We were very nervous to begin with because we were the only small school there, however we were also very excited.

Our first game was against Millmead, a medium school. We just about beat them (but only by one run) even though our bowling wasn't very good. In our second game we went against Morgans A and won by 15 runs; we improved our batting and bowling as we went along.

Unfortunately we lost our last game in our pool matches which was against St John the Baptists. We were then called over to the meeting table where we then got told that we were the second best placed team because of our runs and we were put into the semi-finals.

We had to go against Tewin A team but sadly we lost as they had a county player who had been allowed to bat twice because they were a player short. In the end we came third and were very happy with ourselves; it was a great experience for all of us.
