  • Rememberance Day 2022

    After our two minute silence to mark Rememberance Day, pupils decorated the main fence with the poppies that they have been making throughout the week.

  • October learning!

    1. The whole school have been learning all about Diwali through a dance workshop. Here Year 1 practised a range of movements including jumping up like a firework.
    2. Nursery class have been exploring and finding shapes all around them and creating their own pictures using 2D shapes.
    3. Reception have been learning to sort and group different objects using their fruits and vegetables.
    4. As part of learning about online safety, Year 5 and 6 have created their own computer games to teach others about how to keep themselves safe when online.
    5. The Worship and Well- being Ambassadors led their first ever collective worship around the theme of generosity and what this value means at Harvest time.
    6. Year 3 and 4 had a Roman day with a visitor from Hertford Museum. They even made their own shields and created a phalanx!
    7. Year 5 also took part in a history workshop with Hertford museum, exploring a range of artefacts.
    8. In Year 2, children have been using models to show how they can add together tens and ones.

    Once again we have put on our best denim today in support of the Jeans for Genes charity! Thank you to all those who have donated, your money makes a huge difference.

    Reception Wake and Shake- Each morning Reception take part in a Wake and Shake to stimulate their minds and bodies ready for a day of learning. These past few weeks they have followed Cosmic Yoga, learning a range of stretches and poses.

     

    Chance to Shine Cricket - On Fridays Year 1 to 6 all take part in developing cricket skills through the Chance to Shine charity. They are also running an after school club for pupils in Years 5 and 6.

     

    The Daily Mile- We are very pleased to reintroduce the Daily Mile, a national initiative to keep children moving. Each day at 2pm the whole school meets on the field to walk, jog or run a circuit round the field as many times as possible in ten minutes.

     

    Poetry- The whole school has started the year by studying the book Africa, Amazing Africa! Year 5 and 6 have created these list poems from their studies of the continent.

  • Bank Holiday Closure 19.9.22

    Dear Parents,

     

    Please be advised that the school will be closed on Monday 19th September, as a bank holiday was announced by King Charles III to observe the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

    School will open as normal at 8:40am on Tuesday 20th September.

    A very fun and enjoyable performance of Cinderella and Rockafella last night. The children did us all really proud. Lovely to have the parents back to watch it live too

    What an amazing sports day! Well done to all the children, you all made us so proud with your determination and resilience. Thank you to the parents for joining us and making the day special. Thank you to the brilliant staff who worked so hard to make sure it all ran like clockwork!
