Yesterday Monika from Amey came to visit us and delivered an assembly and workshops about recycling. KS2 sorted materials for recycling while Year 2 made some posters to show what they had learnt.
Jason remembered that glass bottles last for a million years in landfill and Sam told us that landfill sites can be 80 metres deep!
It is therefore really important that we reduce, reuse and recycle!
Emily H learnt that steel cans can be recyled and made into bridges and cars while Harvey learnt that plastic can be remade into jumpers, like the ones we wear to school!
Congratulations Hertford St. Andrew on winning the Hertford Walk to School week trophy! Well done to everybody who walked to school as we came 1st out of the 8 schools that took part! We were extremely proud to be presented with the trophy by Mayor Linda Radford who also visited our classrooms on her tour of the school.
