3/2 B have been making proposals for a school treasure hunt: We have some great ideas where to hide treasure so that we can have a huge treasure hunt at school. I wonder what Mrs Banks will put in the treasure box? Below are some of our ideas, but the place of the real treasure will be a secret!

Arrival of the Butterflies!

Early this morning three of our painted lady butterflies emerged from their cocoons. As the children began to arrive they were lucky enough to watch the fourth come out and spread his wings. At break time the fifth and final butterfly came out of his cocoon.

Our creepy crawly caterpillars have crunched and munched their way through loads of food and have now made their cocoons! The cocoons or pupas have been placed carefully inside their special butterfly house and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our painted lady butterflies. Last week saw us getting to grips with nets. No; Wimbledon is still a few weeks away! We were exploring the nets used to fold into 3d shapes. With scissors and glue everywhere (mostly on the table), a selection of cubes and cuboids emerged from sheets of A4 paper.

The children entered school to some disco music this morning. Their excitement was self restrained as they hung their appropriate attire for the disco on their pegs. Busy! busy! busy! is the watchword as once again Danny fever sweeps through Class5/4G. A whole variety of new activities to enhance the children's learning continue at a pace. Some children were engrossed in making imaginary maps of journeys that Danny may have made or even themselves on some mysterious outing to an exotic place (or Sele Farm and that can be exotic at times!!).

Reception has got some creepy crawly visitors! Today the children in Reception have had some furry arrivals; four tiny caterpillars have found a new home in our classroom. So far we have named one of the caterpillars ‘Fred’ as suggested by Mrs Banks; however we still need names for his three friends.

There has been a wonderful selection of Stig characters as well as Easter scenes which have highlighted our classroom. As usual children have paid great attention to detail. Put on your dancing shoes because the School Disco is coming! It takes place on Friday 27th April, 4pm to 5.30pm in the school hall. Tickets are only £2 and can be bought on the door on the day. There will also be a tuck shop and pocket money toys on sale.

A well deserved break for the children of Yr6 (and the teacher!). The home activities set, with the children looking forward to writing a diary, in their new notebooks; of their holiday adventures.
