Hertford St Andrew CE Primary School

Love Learning. Aim High. Trust God.

CORONAVIRUS

Dear Parents,

There has been much work in school around the Coronavirus situation, as I’m sure you can imagine. Senior staff are well supported by governors and I liaise closely with all other local primary schools.  I receive regular updates from both the operational director at HCC and Hertfordshire’s Public Health Lead; there are varied contingency plans in place.

For the time being, and until we are directed to act differently, school remains open. Individuals are advised to isolate if they show symptoms such as a new persistent cough, or a high temperature.  We absolutely understand that this is a worrying time for parents – please rest assured that all local heads are doing their utmost to keep their community safe, as well as manage many operational considerations.

Teaching and support staff have had the opportunity to discuss protocol and go through the school’s contingency plan.

With this in mind, the school has taken the decision to:

  • cancel celebration assemblies
  • postpone sporting matches and events until further notice
  • cancel swimming lessons at Stevenage Pool
  • limit the number of visitors to the school
  • merge classes should the need arise

We will await further guidance and update you all as soon as possible in any given situation.

Thank you for your continued support.

Ross Jones
