Year 2 and 6 join the circus!

Today Year 2 and Year 6 were joined by Glyn from Alight Fingers to learn circus skills. The day began with Glyn demonstrating how to use a range of exciting equipment including juggling balls, stilts, hoops, and a unicycle!  The children (and adults!) were very impressed with his skills!

Year 2 and 6 then practised balancing a feather on their hands. The trick was to just focus on watching the top to keep it upright and balanced. Once they had practised this skill, they were balancing the feather on their fingers, elbow, chin, nose and even swapping parts of their body without the feather falling!

Next the children rotated through different equipment boxes, practising juggling (moving from one ball to three), flower sticks and the diablo. We were so impressed with the perseverance and persistence shown.

Finally, the children were put into mixed groups and created a show to perform at the end of the day. The rest of the school were amazed!

Thank you once again to Glyn for such an inspiring day!
